Signed with Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Check the SHA-256 after downloading.
Signed with an Azure Artifact Signing Public Trust certificate. Installs for your user only, so no administrator rights are needed.
A native desktop app, packaged as a .deb. Install it with apt, which also installs the libraries DocFila needs. Check the SHA-256 after downloading.
On ChromeOS or another Linux distribution? DocFila runs in any modern browser. Also on the App Store and Google Play.
The desktop app is built around the DocFila Reader, with the document tools from the web and mobile apps alongside it.
View PDFs in a native window and annotate them as you read. The Reader is the heart of the desktop app.
The DocFila document tools you use on the web and on mobile, on your desktop as well.
Sign documents and redact what should not be shared, directly in the Reader.
Open PDFs and images from Finder: choose Open With, or drag a file onto the DocFila icon.
Files that are already on your device open without a connection.
Sign in with your DocFila account and work with the same files as the web and mobile apps.
DocFila for macOS is a drag-and-drop install from a signed DMG, for macOS 12 Monterey or later on Apple silicon and Intel.
Download DocFila-2.6.3.dmg (325 MB) and open it from your Downloads folder.
In the window that opens, drag the DocFila icon onto the Applications folder. Eject the disk image once the copy finishes.
Open DocFila from Applications. macOS may ask you to confirm opening an app downloaded from the internet; the app is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so confirm and continue. Then sign in with your DocFila account.
DocFila for Windows is a signed installer (.exe) for Windows 10 version 1809 or later, 64-bit. Download it from this page, open it from your Downloads folder, and it installs for your user account only, so it never asks for administrator rights.
A new signing certificate has no download history yet, so Windows may show a SmartScreen notice the first time. Choose More info, check that the publisher reads NotaNovice UG, then Run anyway. The warning stops once the certificate builds reputation.
DocFila for Linux is a .deb package for Ubuntu 24.04 or later, 64-bit (x86-64), and for Debian-based distributions with the same libraries. On ChromeOS or any other system, the web app runs in any modern browser.
Download DocFila-2.6.3.deb (99 MB) into your Downloads folder, then check its SHA-256.
In a terminal, run the command below. apt also installs the libraries DocFila depends on.
sudo apt install ~/Downloads/DocFila-2.6.3.deb
Open DocFila from your application menu, or run docfila in a terminal, and sign in with your DocFila account. To remove it later, run sudo apt remove docfila.

There is a Free tier. Premium is $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year and Pro is $19.99 a month or $199.99 a year. On desktop, plans are billed through Stripe: checkout opens in your browser and a docfila:// link returns you to the app.
Yes. The desktop app uses the same DocFila account as the web and mobile apps, so the files and plan you already have are there when you sign in. A Free account is enough to get started.
Files that are already on your device open in DocFila without a connection. Anything that goes through your account, such as signing in and syncing with your other devices, needs one.
For now, updates are delivered as new downloads from this page. When a newer version is listed here, download it and install it over the copy you have: on a Mac, drag it into Applications to replace the old one; on Windows, run the new installer; on Linux, install the new .deb with apt.
The Linux package is built for Ubuntu 24.04 or later, 64-bit (x86-64). Debian-based distributions with the same libraries can install it too. On ChromeOS or any other system, the DocFila web app runs in any modern browser.
