How to Convert Images to PDF on iPhone & Android — Free
You took a photo of a whiteboard, a receipt, or a signed form — and now someone needs it as a PDF. Converting images to PDF is one of the most common everyday tasks, yet many people still email raw photos or screenshots instead. A proper PDF looks more professional, is easier to read, and keeps multiple pages in a single file.
Why Convert Images to PDF?
Images and PDFs serve different purposes. Here is why PDF is often the better format for sharing documents:
- Multi-page documents. Five images are five separate files. A PDF combines them into a single document with one image per page.
- Consistent page size. You choose A4, US Letter, or a page that fits each image, so the pages print and display the same way for everyone.
- One file to send. A single PDF is easier to email, upload to a form, and store than a folder of photos.
- Passwords. A PDF can be saved with a password. An image cannot.
How to Convert Images to PDF With DocFila
Step 1 — Open the converter
Launch DocFila and open the Converter in the Tools section, then choose Images to PDF. You can also search for “jpg to pdf” or “photo to pdf” in the converter's search box.
Step 2 — Choose your images
Tap Choose files to convert and select one or more images, then use Add more files if you need to add others. DocFila reads these image formats:
- JPG / JPEG
- PNG
- WebP
- GIF (the first frame)
- BMP
- TIFF
DocFila cannot read HEIC or HEIF photos. If your iPhone saves photos as HEIC, export them as JPG first (the Photos app can do this, or set the camera to Most Compatible).
Step 3 — Choose the page size
Pick A4 (the default), US Letter, or Page fits each image. Each image becomes one page, in the order you chose the files. Photos taken sideways are turned upright using the orientation stored in the photo.
Step 4 — Convert and save
Tap convert. The conversion runs on your device, so the images are not uploaded. When the PDF is ready, choose Save converted file and pick where to put it.
Tips for Converting Many Images
- Name the files in order. Number the files (01, 02, 03) so they are easy to select in the right sequence.
- Group related images. Convert all pages of one document into a single PDF rather than creating separate files.
- Compress afterward if needed. If the resulting PDF is too large, use DocFila's PDF compression tool to reduce the file size.
- Reorder or remove pages afterward. The converter does not rearrange pages. Open the PDF in the PDF tools to delete, reorder, or rotate pages.
Searchable Text
Converting images to PDF does not read the text in them, so the PDF is not searchable on its own. If you want searchable text from photos of documents, scan them with DocFila's document scanner, which can read the text with OCR, or run text recognition separately.
